Palermo Metro-Peripheries: The Role of Peripheries in a Metropolitan Perspective
2018
The deep change in functional, political, and symbolic relations between core and peripheries in European metropolitan dynamics has blurred the current categories of “periphery” and “core”. These disciplines represent the starting point to reflect upon the process o…
The Sicilian system of Protected Areas – Integrated planning and management policies for protected areas
2018
Currently the Sicilian system of protected areas appears to be extremely advanced with its 12% of territory protected by regional regulations versus the nationwide average of 11%, but it is also the most contradictory one. In this paper we will analyze what kinds of anthropogenic pressure exist in Sicily and what could be a new perspective for protected areas
